TERMS & CONDITIONS
Payment of the Deposit constitutes acceptance of the following Terms and Conditions.
​1. Our values

We acknowledge the Traditional and, indeed, first custodians of this land, the Bundjalung people, and we pay our respect to the custodians, past present and emerging.

We give our respect to Mother Earth, our precious Waters, Air and sacred fire that gives us life.

We respect each other and all life.
-
We respect the sacred traditions and practices that bring joy, healing and transformation, for the greatest good of all.
-
We chose to only host facilitators who hold events, classes and trainings that are in alignment with our values.
-
We translate our values into action by seeking to be sustainable and by personal practices such as only bringing organic and biodegradable personal hygiene products (shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, deodorant, toothpaste etc) onto the land.

​2. Check-in / check-out

Check-in: 2 pm on the arrival date or by prior arrangement.

Check-out: Please let us know your needs when checking out. In the spirit of understanding the flowing nature of Sacred events, if we have no other booking on your departure date, we can offer a check-out of no later than 4 pm. If you need to check out later than 4pm extra charges will apply.

Please notify our Team of your expected arrival time and provide a mobile contact number
at least 7 days before arrival.

​​3. Payment

A minimum deposit of 50% must be received within 3 days after the Booking is taken by our Team.

Bookings are confirmed when the deposit is received.
-
Payment in full (50%) must be received no later than 30 days before the check-in date, unless by prior arrangement.

We accept payment by direct deposit to our bank account.
4. Cancellation or Date Variations
-
If you need to vary or cancel your Booking, please advise us in writing coordinator@thehum.one

In the event of cancellation:
-
Up to 60 days: For cancellations that are made up to 60 days before your arrival, you will receive a full refund of the deposit paid minus a $50 admin fee.
-
Within 60 days: For cancellations that are made inside the 60 days, you will receive a full refund, minus a $100 admin fee if there is someone to fill the vacancy, or a 50% refund minus a $100 admin fee if the vacancy cannot be filled.

Within 30 days: For cancellations that are made within 30 days, you will only receive a refund, minus a $250 admin fee, if there is someone to fill the vacancy. If your vacancy cannot be filled, sorry no refund.

Change of date: With more than 60 days' notice prior to the arrival date, your booking may be changed without penalty subject to availability and must be within 12 months of the original arrival date. Only one date change is allowed per booking.

A change of date within 60 days of your booking date is considered a cancellation and our cancellation terms will apply. However, if we can fill in your vacancy, only a $100 admin fee will apply.

​5. Security Deposit:

A security deposit for the amount of AUD 600 is to be transferred at the time of booking.

Any damage loss, or expense incurred by the Hummingbird Centre for Awakening as a result of your booking will be deducted from the deposit and the balance returned. Examples include, but are not limited to any breakage, damage excess cleaning requirements or extra Guests beyond those declared. Should anything be lost, damaged or broken, we ask that you advise us immediately so we can work together to reach a positive outcome for everyone.

6. Unavailability
If the Property becomes unavailable for your occupancy due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. fire, storm, flood, damage, etc) then our Team will inform you immediately and any monies paid will be refunded in full.

7. Responsibilities​​

Facilitators are 100% responsible for the welfare of their guests while they are at the Hummingbird Centre for Awakening.
-
It is the facilitators responsibility to ensure that all guests adhere to our code of values.
-
It is mandatory for facilitators to have a Public Liability Insurance. Any personal injury or property damage will be at your own expense.
-
Facilitators and guests remain responsible for their wellbeing while at the Hummingbird Centre for Awakening. Including while swimming in the creek and walking in the bush.

We ask that our facilitators and guests are mindful of behaviours and actions that may cause damage to our Centre.

It is the facilitators responsibility to let us know if the number of guests is higher than the number originally agreed upon.
-
Facilitators are responsible for making sure that guests are respectful and considerate of our neighbours.
-
Facilitators holding events, classes or trainings are required to provide a current copy of their public liability insurance in advance of the arrival date. We are not covered for damage or injury during events, classes or trainings.
-
We ask that there is no use of or adding of nails, hooks, hanging of any item, or plugging in of equipment is permitted without prior approval from our Team.
-
All music is to be lightly amplified (limit set in Byron Bay and the hinterland is 94 db.)

8. General
-
Carpooling and parking: Please be aware that we have exactly 15 parking spaces for cars. It is possible to park 2 extra cars, but be aware that those extra cars will park people in. For more than 17 vehicles max please be aware you will need to organise carpooling.

As much as we love dogs, cats and all creatures great and small please do not bring your four-legged friends as we are a nature sanctuary.
-
Our kitchen is fully equipped, tea towels are provided.
-
We ask that you move any furniture very carefully so as to avoid damage to the floor or furnishings. The wooden floor scratches very easily.
-
Please wipe up spillages on the wooden floor immediately, so as to avoid staining the floor.
9. Departure
-
Tea towels, hand towels and bathmats should be left in the laundry basket provided.
-
Before departure, all food must be removed from fridges.
-
We provide compost bins.
-
All rubbish and recycling can be either taken away by facilitators or we will provide a wheely bins where separated and bagged rubbish and recycling can be placed for an additional fee of $60 per wheely bin.
-
Crockery and cutlery must be washed and packed away.
-
Please tidy up and sweep the floors before leaving.
-
Extra cleaning charges may be incurred for the cleaning of dirty dishes, emptying the fridge, excessive laundry, removal of excessive rubbish etc.

Furniture and furnishings must be left in the position they were in when you arrived unless arranged at check-in. We recommend that if you are to move any furniture, you take photos before you do so for your reference.

The property should be vacated at the agreed time of departure.

10. Problems or Complaints

In the case of any problem or complaint, please inform our Team at the earliest opportunity so our Team has the chance to rectify the situation as quickly and efficiently as possible. You must allow service access to the property at any time.

Any complaint, which cannot be resolved locally, must be notified in writing to our Team (or via email at coordinator@thehum.one) prior to departure from the Property.

11. Discretion

The Hummingbird Centre for Awakening has the right to refuse a booking and refund any payments made at its discretion.

The Hummingbird Centre for Awakening accepts no responsibility or liability for any loss or damage to any property belonging to a facilitator or the facilitators guests, including hire equipment and all items that are on site.
-
Our Team reserves the right in our absolute discretion to exclude or remove any person who behaves outside our code of values without liability.

​12. Definitions

“Booking” means the period for which you have paid to stay at the Hummingbird Centre for Awakening.

"The Hummingbird Centre for Awakening” means all of its fixtures, fijngs, equipment and grounds.

“Facilitator” means the persons who made the Booking and all assistants, in any capacity.

"Guests" means the persons who stay overnight at the Hummingbird Centre for Awakening during the Booking.

"Visitor" means a person a Guest or Facilitator permits to visit the Hummingbird Centre for Awakening during the Booking.

"Event" means a booking that includes Visitors
