Venue Information

Check-in / check-out

Check-in: 3 pm on the arrival date, or by prior arrangement.

Check-out: Please let us know your needs when it comes to checking out. In the spirit of understanding the flowing nature of Sacred events, if we have no other booking on your departure date, we can offer a checkout

no later than 10 am. (Extra charges may apply if you need to check out later than 10 am. Be in touch.) Please notify our Team of your expected arrival time (and provide a

mobile contact number at least 7 days before arrival.)

Carpooling and Parking

Please be aware that we have exactly 15 parking spaces for cars. It is possible to park 2 extra cars, but be aware that those extra cars will park people in. To park more than 17 vehicles please be aware that you will need to organise carpooling.

Facilitator Responsibilities

Facilitators are 100% responsible for the welfare of their guests while they are at the Hummingbird Centre for Awakening, please see our Terms and Conditions for more details. Before arriving please ensure that your participants are informed of the following: (where applicable, for your ease, feel free to “cut and paste” the below into your communications to your community).

Privacy and discretion:

As respectful custodians of sacred practices, we trust that you and your participants will have high-calibre protocols when it comes to discretely communicating about your own and other sacred practices. This especially applies to online communication.

Sustainable values in action:

Biodegradable personal hygiene: Please ensure that your tribe only bring organic and biodegradable personal hygiene products (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, toothpaste etc) onto our land.

Synthetic microfibers: We also ask that you encourage your tribe to bring clothing and bedding derived from natural fabrics. Please be aware of the harm being caused by synthetic microfibers (such as fleece) to our bodies, precious waterways, soil and food chain. Whilst it seems ‘easier’ to pack a

synthetic microfiber blanket, socks or jumper, these items are causing grave harm. Please be mindful.

Minimum waste:

As a part of our relationship with our beautiful Earth, we strive towards minimum waste events. Please buy the food that you bring with you without one-time-use plastic packaging and without plastic wraps. Health food shops and markets often sell their products without hard/soft plastic packaging. Good luck!

Waste and rubbish

We provide compost bins for food scraps.

Please be aware that all rubbish and recycling are to be either taken away by your tribe or we can provide wheely bins where separated

and bagged rubbish and recycling can be placed. The cost to process your rubbish is an additional fee of $60 per wheely bin.

Venue and location discrete communication:

Please let participants know the exact location of the Hummingbird no more than 3 days before your event. In the meantime, you can let your tribe know that our venue is 15 min

from Mullumbimby (Wilsons Creek).

Address and Directions

1019a Wilsons Creek.

Go up Wilson's Creek for 12kms.

You will see a grey electricity/Telstra-type box on the right and our driveway,

1019a, is immediately opposite, on the left. There is a sign AKUNA. Come on over the creek and up to the top of the driveway. Go up the strips, (you will see passing bays along the way, should you need them) and turn left into the car park. Welcome!

Pets/fur friends:

As much as we love dogs, cats - and all creatures great and small, please

do not bring any four-legged friends.

Throwing -up

Funny heading I know! In my tradition, we call this “Getting Well” rather

than vomiting. Unlike some venues, your participants are not invited to “get well”

outside wherever they feel like, so buckets are required. Please collect your Wellness in one place (bucket) and offer it with a sacred offering (tobacco etc) to a tree that is not close to the temple and unlikely to be a location where someone wants to sit, meditate or camp! Thank you for your contribution of nutritional elements to the land!

Ensure that paper tissues etc are not in the buckets when you do so. If you need, up to 30 medium-sized white buckets are available to be hired at an extra charge of $5 per bucket. They must be returned washed. The hire of buckets includes 2 big wellness buckets (a large one to collect the wellness and one for cleaning wellness buckets).

Cancellation or Date Variations:

Please see our Terms and Conditions.

Terms and Conditions

Please read our Terms and Conditions which have been attached as a

separate document. Some boring bits we know, but all-important details.

Thank you for reading our T&Cs so we don’t have to put them all into this

email!

All these details are offered in the spirit of clarity and good

communications so we can know how to work best with one another for

maximum harmony, upliftment and amazing events that change lives.

Myself and the team at The Hummingbird Centre for an Awakening look

forward to welcoming you on Thursday the 22nd of October.

Lots of love!

Be the reason someone smiles today…
